The program was filmed in 3 main places: Hoa Lu ancient capital, Trang An ecotourism area, Bai Dinh pagoda, with the participation of many famous domestic artists and cultural researchers. With the duration of nearly 2 hours, "The last afternoon of the year" will create a unique program imbued with the national culture. 

In This year,  "The last afternoon of the year"  has chosen the theme "Viet Nam" as the idea throughout 3 parts: Spring of love, Spring of solidarity and Vietnam in a new day. The crew fulfilled their wish with the audience to look back on the country's journey through a difficult year, but also filled with love for homeland, human love, compatriotism, solidarity of Vietnamese people, from there towards good things will come to the country in the new year.
