Update: 02/08/2021
Ninh Binh is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions. Always proud to have been the capital of three dynasties: Dinh - Le - Ly and was the place that produced famous people and talented people who made the nation's name and Ninh Binh's land glorious. was a Vietnamese mandarin and general who served as the Grand Chancellor of Đinh dynasty and was the first chancellor in Vietnamese history. He helped future emperor Dinh Bo Linh put an end to the troubles of the Anarchy of the 12 Warlords and to establish Dinh dynasty.

Nguyen Bac was born in Giap Than year (924) in Sach Bong, Dai Huu village, Dai Hoang Chau (now Gia Phuong commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province). Nguyen Bac is the same age, same hometown as Dinh Bo Linh. When they were young, they practiced chess together, and when they grew up, they were sworn brothers. In the year of Dinh Hoi (951), Dinh Bo Linh rebelled in the Linh Son team, Hoa Lu cave to suppress 12 warlords, unifying the country. He was a talented general of Dinh Bo Linh. He commanded the battles that forced Pham Bach Ho, Ngo Nhat Khanh and Ngo Xuong Xi to submit, defeating the two strongest envoys, Nguyen Sieu and Do Canh Thac. Nguyen Bac and King Dinh Tien Hoang completed the historic mission of reunifying the country.

As emperor, Đinh Bộ Lĩnh quickly rewarded his long time followers. He placed Nguyễn Bặc at the head of the nobility with the title Nation-Establishing Duke (Định-Quốc Công) and officially adopted Nguyễn Bặc into the newly established royal family. Like Emperor Đinh Bộ Lĩnh, Nguyễn Bặc had risen from the peasantry class to become one of the most powerful figures in the kingdom of Great Việt (Đại-Cồ-Việt), as Vietnam was named under the Đinh.

Due to great merits to the Dinh dynasty and to the country, when Nguyen Bac died, people built temples in many places. In which the main temple is from Nguyen Toc street in Vinh Ninh village, Gia Vien, Ninh Binh. In the imperial city of Hue, King Minh Mang built temples to worship kings and famous generals through dynasties, including Nguyen Bac.
