Reed grass, also known as thatched grass, is present all over the North, Central and South regions of our country, but nowhere the reed flower is as beautiful as in the Hoa Lu mountain region of the Trang An Landscape Complex. The reeds here have tall, straight stems, stout, white cotton, which are better than the reeds in all other places like Hanoi, Da Nang, etc. Every year in the 11th lunar month, the reeds bloom all over the valley.

The pure white color of wild reed flowers fills both sides of the road leading to Trang An eco-tourism area. Against the deep blue sky, at the foot of the majestic rocky mountains are fields filled with pure white reeds, making the road to Trang An become soft and unusually beautiful. Every time the wind blows, the two sides of the road are like flexible and gentle white silk stripping that flutter the hearts of many travelers.

The most beautiful time of the reed flowers is early in the morning. When it first blooms, the flower is pure white, after a while, it will turn yellow. In the afternoon, the reed flowers blend with the sunlight, enveloping the majestic limestone mountains, bringing a wild and mysterious beauty.

The reed grass not only brings simple and rustic beauty but also brings with its folk knowledge. Every time flowers grow in large clusters, on a large area, according to the folk experience of the ancients, it is a sign that the storm season is over.

The fields of reeds when winter comes as if to add more wild and poetic colors to the nature here. Especially Ninh Binh reed is also associated with the legend of the national hero Dinh Bo Linh who founded the first independent feudal state in Vietnam.
